Drug peddling- death sentence in Punjab.
It is a bold step akin to Phillipines where even users are jailed and peddlers are subjected to death sentence like China .
But the state of Punjab which was hit by a wave of addiction to drugs recently for a decade and recovering slowly has taken the bold step.
The cost of addiction in terms of loss of youth ,human resources ,law enforcement cost , deaddiction costs ,security lapses is huge for any state .
Will it act as a deterrent?can we have a similar thinking on rape, rape on minors ,sodomy and other sexual offences,acid attacks?
We wish that some luminieries will enlighten the pros and cons of amending CRPC.
It is time to act tough.Instead of death can some very severe alternate be thought of?
I invite opinions from the wise and oppressed citizens and people who have suffered. more

The suggestions of CM Punjab to subject govt employees to take dope test including MLAs,other elected reps is laudable as the seriousness of drug addiction seem to have reached epic proportions. more

The drug addicts are either of money power society (who are likely to get away, some how) or victims of evil companions, contacts, etc. So their life may be spared. However, if the quantity available with an addict is relatively high (that the addict may be able to induce others) should put him in the Peddlers' category. Every addict and premises available to him, should be thoroughly searched. If at all the punishment should be inversely proportional to addicts' ignorance and awareness status. Higher for affluent addict But for the Drug Peddlers death penalty has to be implemented. A Must! Not only that, any person, Police, Politician or friend found trying to shield a Peddler should be considered an accomplice, part of the peddlers' gang. Their abetting to destroying lives, households, society and values must be punishable as if for committing homicide. more

This is the Job of Money and Muscle Power influential men and the centre may also ignoring this as its matter of a state instead if the centre thinks it's their Prime duty as a Parent govt to act on this. Even Singapore has also very tough laws for this. People, society and all medias should come together to raise their voice against this for good results to come. more

Adverse effects of drugs/narcotics are to be imbibed in the minds of children from early ages. Schools should take up such subjects. the same way they teach basic hygienes/moral behaviours. Human aversions becomes imbibed, once evils are marked as devils. Quite often children get to addiction starting from addiction to sniffing Kerosene oil, petrol etc. A flower bud has to survive multiple adversities to blossom fully. A gardener has to devote his/her watchful eyes from such adversaries. Death penalties to drug peddlers - YES,YES,and YES, because they are committing homicides and quite often abetting to suicides and destroying the households and the societies. Death penalties to drug addicts - cases need be examined. Quite often they are victims of evil companions, contacts, etc. Extreme penalties are to be considered if rehabilitation(de-addiction),other form of punishments, etc. had failed. more

Last year Case proved that Several Selabrities , Heros etc., of Movie Field, Some Corporate Offices, Schools also indulged in Drug Mafia. Only some were interrogated while all others kept Secret . NONE IS DARING TO FAST CONCLUDE AND PUNISH.
Such Cases were allowed and left out many times since last Decade. Even Liquor Racket of 2012-13 was so set aside even by changing the Inspector investigating.
Implementation and Enforcement of Laws and Punishments only set to common and poor who EITHER cannot dump Money/Property NOR influence Political support. THESE UNLAWFUL METHODS AND OFFENCES OF DUTY SHALL BE ERADICATED . more

Drug peddlers and well as consumers should be punished. If there is no consumer, there will be no supply. It is a case of demand & supply. We must kill the demand. There is need to amend all out dated laws on priority. No scene of drinking, smoking, drug consuming and sexual assault/advances should be shown in any TV serial, film and advertisement as it temps the young minds. more

Drug, Liquor, Sex Expressing Exposures in T.V.Channels that are ruining not only Children of India but also the Women NEED TO BE ERADICATED with strict laws , prompt implementation and , undeviated/undiluted enforcement . more
