Caveat: On exchanging 500 & 1000 notes
While depositing or exchanging 500 or 1000 notes in the Bank or Post Office, when you are asked to provide ID and PAN copy, kindly attest the same and write a note that you are depositing so much amount on the date..... There are chances that unsigned PAN and ID proof copy may be photocopied several times. more

After depositing the amount the amount, they could have been allowed to withdraw only certain percentage of the amount. They should be educated to withdraw only the actual required amount. more

I failed to understand why the Govt has provided option for exchange of notes. This provision would have restricted to the railway stations and the Airports. In other cases customers should have allowed customers deposit their notes into their accounts directly using the normal payin slip and later allowed to withdraw from the ATMs. Govt has to ensure frequent refilling of the ATMs. The problkem would have sorted out. How come our Govt machineries are so ineffective and inefficient? Thanks more
