Bangalore--Bad C.T.Scan centers, lack of Transparency in Treatment (-private and Gov hospitals)

During this Corona period Hospitals admit patients in Government and Private Hospitals on selective basis. So much so, only God blessed people get admission in hospitals and in many cases doctors advice patients to remain at home and take tablets as their condition do not warrant admission. These doctors even fail to take C.T.Scan to assess the extent of the lung affected and prescribe adequate treatment. This callus approach by doctors is condemnable. The corona patients who take treatment from Home, could not either go to Govt hospitals or private hospitals as as there is none to give prescription to CT Scan for these patients. This callous situation prevails in Bangalore. Patients are unable to get proper corona treatment either from Public Health Authorities or from Private Hospitals. The Govt of India Ministry of Health must step in this matter and give suitable instruction to all Public Health Authorities to take stalk of all corona patients particularly those in BIG APARTMENTS since these patients go unnoticed and not properly treated. Moreover, very hospitals do not maintain transparency in treating in-patients and and many relatives of patients are very much worried about their kith and kin till they are discharged. more

Why anyone should be bothered about people who got covid by not bothering about strictly following covid protocols for their own good. Mass gatherings in both open and enclosed spaces are super spreaders. more

These opinions are due to misconceptions. CT scans should ideally be limited to those with a SpO2 below 94 or those who fail the 6 min walk test. CT is also indicated in patients with sudden increase in CRP values and in those showing signs of early pulmonary involvement. It’s sad that people feel that asking for CT chest and giving Remdesivir injections is the ultimate in patient care. In fact, those doctors who dissuade you from an unnecessary CT scan are doing you a service. You save on precious cash (unless the insurance or someone else is paying for your treatment), and also avoids the exposure to significant RADIATION! A chest CT typically exposes you to 7mSv of radiation that is the amount of natural radiation you are likely to experience in 3 years! Similarly in resource limited settings, home treatment with expert monitoring is the rule in mild and even mild to moderate Covid. Many patients with mild infection, by sheer dint of their contacts, barge their way into hospitals, comprising scarce beds and health resources and also endangering their own lives. more
all politicians/babus etc get for whatever ailment they have good treatment at tax payers exchequer whereas common struggle to get an appointment itself more
Pl. note Babus are also paying Income tax and are paid for the job assigned to them. more
Getting a hospital bed/room itself in Bangalore is next to impossible, unless you have connections. BBMP says that they do not have any separate rooms and beds are only in 2 centers- Koramangala and haj center. Citizens have to fend for themselves, despite feeding the politicians and the govt. Sorry state of affairs. No ownership, no responsibilities. more
CT scan is not necessary for the ALL the covid patients. Let the comptetent doctor decide which patient needs it. Another side of coin is, there are many patients who are going for CT scan voluntarily with advise of relatives and friends, when they actually dont need it, increasing the load on the scanning resources, which leads difficulties for those who desparately need it. more
