Vadodara Police

Police is always at service of VIPs. Be it Vadodara, or any other Indian place. Why not stand at all signals all the time and run behind signal offenders ? Target driven fines is what Vadodara police is only interested in. Why not collect fines while catching signal offenders thru cctv snaps ? Fine to be deposited strictly in a bank. Else, offender will leave by bribing a policeman.

Instead of concentrating on helmets and seat belts, first the police should start picking up rash drivers ramdomly and start penalizing them heavily, in such a way that they do not dare be arrogant on road again. Attempts should be made to discipline people atleast at the signals. Nobody seems to even notice the zebra crossings and stand well over them with their vehicles and even beyond them. Even the police does not seem to realize how stupid is this behaviour! Pedestrians also do not think much about crossing by zebra crossings only. They start crossing as soon as they idea of crossing the road crosses their minds. Rackless honking is a disease widely prevalent in public. Nuisance creating brats should be punished. Excess smoke producing vehicles should be checked. A lot needs to be done subsequent to these basic steps, but in my opinion, the start should be from these steps.

Vadodara Traffic Police now needs to act. The traffic is grown too fast and wrong side driving, jumping signal, rash negligent driving, honking, air horns, heavy trucks buses, it is chaos.
By imposing the law the fines collected can be used as bonus for Traffic Police.
Will the Police Commissioner take note and do something please.

Do we really have traffic police in Vadodara, i find some people in police uniform at some junctions and railway stations minding their own and doing nothing so much so that people break rules under their nose and are unable to do anything, they need to be sent to Mumbai to see how the Traffic Police operate. Over here they are a mockery of the police fuction, the people also do not have traffic sense even if they have to turn right they will be on the extreme left, and who have to go straight will be occupying the right lane, unless this is stopped by penalising the culprits the situation I doubt will improve, we as citizens take pride and boast about breaking rules as the police do not take action.

In addition to Rajat Mital's observations I add one more very serious driving/tfc hazard and that is use of mobile phones by riders & drivers while driving in tfc, at times in thick tfc. I give lowest rating helplessly as there is no zero or minus rating and because there're a few tfc policemen who who do their duty, though halfhearted, in highly polluted environs.
