Traffic Management in Mumbai is very poor as there is a huge volume of road traffic which is growing every day, but traffic policing has been frozen. With the result there is poor enforcement of traffic rules & the morale of traffic policemen is declining. Drivers of motor vehicles blatantly break traffic signals, use their loud horns needlessly, use their mobiles while driving, but the traffic police constable on the road targets only the weakest, i.e. the two wheeler riders without helmets, some car drivers who drive without wearing their seatbelt or who jump the red signal. No action is taken against unionised Autorikshaws drivers who drive on the wrong side of the road. No action is taken on car drivers who park at road corners or use their mobiles while driving.
they can improve if police roam the streets like dubai poliice on their bikes and cars. but the new traffic cars are used to take senir officers kids to school and weekend travel.
can u answer following:
why double parking and stopping is not penalised?
why beat officers not patrolling and not charging the parking offenders?
why corner parking is allowed


i may rate mumbai police to zero star.
