They are claiming their toothpaste best suited for sensitivity problem. They have stated on their website "The #1 Dentist Recommended Toothpaste For Sensitive Teeth
9 out of 10 Dentists Recommend Sensodyne". They have bery big coverage in TV ads.
The company is violating code of ethics for medical professional. The ad will be showing a doctor named Dr. Niharika Gulati as the recoomending for the tooth paste to address the problem of teeth sensitivity. They have also stated that 90% of the doctors are recommending the tooth paste to be used. The said advertisement has been declared as violative in UK and it has been banned. ASCI however could not ensure banning of the advertisment in India merely on the ground that the doctor is a practicising doctor abroad and hence no action could be taken. It is highly surprising that why they are silent on banning the advertisement to be shown on TV channels. May be ..........
However, the author sought a documentary evidence of 90% doctors recommending use of sensodyne tooth paste. The documents were sought by email dtd. 28th January 2015 quoted as:
"I refer to your various advertisement in Radio as well as various TV channels highlighting endorsement of sensodyne toothpaste by Dentists. In fact the home page of your website also states that 9 out of 10 Dentists have recommended use of sensodyne. It also states Sensodyne has continually provided clinically proven relief from sensitive teeth.
I request you to please forward us the recommendations of the Dentists as well as clinical report proving relief from sensitive teeth as being claimed by you in various advertisements as well as your web-site. "
The company just acknowledge the receipt of the mail and addressing the concern. The company has failed to produce the documents implying that the claims made by them are false and the public is being cheated by misleading the viewers that it is being recommended by the doctors. In view of their false claim and misleading the public the company is being rated as "terrible"
