Usually I travel by air. But on 19 February 2016, I travelled by Pachim Express from Mumbai to Beas in 2AC. The coach was old and one glass of window near my birth was broken. The aisel birth was having gap which made uncomfortable in sleeping. The provided was having hole. There was no water in toilets or in wash basin outside toilets which compelled all passengers in our compartment to use toilets in other coach. One thing was good that cleaning staff was moving around the coach. 2. The train was terminated in New Delhi due to agitation going on in Haryana. The worst thing was that the coach attendent did not inform us that train is cancelled in New Delhi. This we came to know from other passengers. Atleast this much courtsey should have been shown by the coach attended. When I came to know that train got cancelled at New Delhi, I returned to Mumbai by air instead of train. Ajeet Kumar Varma
Its only the words and no deeds. Let any railway minister comes, they will say that they will change the railways completely. We have to change=, but in railways nothing will change. Previously the minister had the courtesy to tell the Lok Sabha that they are introducing certain trains and they use to fulfill atleast 70 - 80 percent of these things. Now the present railway minister is not at all bothered to inform the August House when and where he is introducing the new trains. Where his party needs or where his MPs need some train he is introducing them. No care to the citizens and commuters. In normal course, the punctuality of some trains have improved and the minister and the railways are boasting that it is their work. Share on their part. For more than 3 decades the Andhra People are asking for a separate zone for Visakhapatnam and till now no one fulfilled it. Even the present minister also. We have asked for several trains and not even a single train is started. We don't know what happened to our requests. Mr. Railway Minister, are you listening! Please lend your ear to the commuters. No doubt, wheel chair, doctor are necessary, but at the same time, punctuality, new trains, speeding up of the trains are also necessary. If you look into this local circle, you will realise how much the commuters want from you.
12149/12150 Travel to Jabalpur from Pune. Toilets in sleeper class in pathetic condition. There is urgent need to upgrade toilets in all the racks in this train.
17318 - Mumbai to Hubbali - This train timings are very inconvenient as the train reaches Hubbali at midnight. The travel time is also almost double as compared to road travel. As a consequence this train's occupancy is below 20% for a significant time during the year. Railways are loosing revenue due to low occupancy. They should reconsider the timings of this train between Mumbai and Hubbali and revise it to start from Mumbai in the evening after 8 pm and should reach Hubbali by 8 am next day. There is a huge demand for travel between these 2 cities and is currently fulfilled by private bus operators.

Mumbai - Bengaluru train connectivity - There is not a single superfast train connecting the commercial capital and IT capital of India. The fastest train takes almost 24 hours of time to cover the distance between these 2 cities. The road travel between these 2 cities is covered in around 16-18 hours. There is an urgent need to have a superfast train service and a Duronto service between these 2 metros.
Trains have to be designed for maximum comfort with minimum maintenance required so that the service shall remain good thru the life of the train coach .Modt of the coaches be designed got Aircindutioning they Solar as well as captive power usages and the stoppages be staggered between trains to maximum the run of about 2 hours at a stretch .this can also distiributecthe passengers better and trains would be loaded better .

Udyan Express 2nd AC coach was from NE railway probably shunted from there. Did not have sprinkler nor mug in WC western style .No place to keep your soap box, tooth brush and other toiletries. No hand rail to keep napkin or to hold .Travelled on 30th Sept. in A-3 coach from Sai P Nilayam to mumbai. Small cockroaches also seen in WC.
After Mr.Suresh Prabhu took over the reigns, the state of Indian railway platform has become fantastic. Earlier we used to see/get dirty things(and even dirty smell of toilet(i.e., urine smell)) on the platforms/walkovers. Now, there are cleaners standing alert in these areas and maintaining it pretty clean. I observed this especially in Bangalore and Mantralaya railway stations. Also there are many services like 'destination station alert' and dedicated telephone numbers for different services etc.,
Kudos to Mr. Suresh Prabhu and his team for the great work which was not observed for many years earlier. This is the best example to highlight that 'IF ONE WANTS TO DO THE WORK/SERVICE, HE/SHE CAN DO IT AT ANY COST IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SIZE OF THE ORGANIZATION'.
I had a terrible experience of travelling on Howrah-Pune Duranto Exp started on 3rd Nov-18 from Howrah. It commenced by 1 and half hrs late and arrived Pune by 9 hrs late on 4th Nov. Food supply stopped after lunch hour and it did not halt on stations but at odd places, from where you could get no foods and beverages. Nowadays they charge variable fares and I paid @ Rs.3500 each while booking my tickets. And this train was getting the least priority while all other trains were being allowed to go ahead of it. All this at a cost equal to airfare! Who is going to travel by Duranto, a so-called premium train? This is the reason why half my compartment was empty and still they foods were also being served late, e.g. breakfast on 3rd was served a12 noon, lunch at 4 pm and dinner at 11 pm and so on.
They paste the identity details provided by the passenger in front of the compartment. When PAN number is given as ID by a passenger, the information pasted on the compartment is copied by some fraudulent antisocial people. The PAN no. and other details of the passenger are used to purchase gold above 2lakh Rupees, where PAN no. is warranted. This will attract the attention of tax department towards a person, who has not purchased, and is being victimised.
