Delhi Police

This is the high time that we need traffic managed by a separate authority, under the absolute control of a cabinet minister. The traffic police has failed miserably in contolling and managing the present day traffic. The reasons for this are known to everybody.
Direct intervention of Prime minister is also required to form a unique traffic managing authority.

Very poor traffic management when some thing goes wrong like Vehicle Breakdiwn or road repairs .., then there is need for Traffic Police to come on scene and help flow .

Poor Lane driving practices, especially by autos, taxis and large commercial vehicles, not curbed; parking and stopping on crossings/ turnings, wrong side driving, pedestrians crossing when traffic light are green, no mobile patrols, No traffic cops at peak hours (except for VIP visits) but multiple cops at one crossing during daytime, allowing vehicles to cut in from left at narrow flyovers (RTR, Dwarka) . Its like rocket science!!

The Delhi Traffic management by the police is not up to the mark.May be being capitol there is always vvip movements which result in diversions but they are not planned properly.The automatic traffic signals are not set to proper timing taking in to consideration of traffic flow and density of traffic and direction of flow.This result in irritation and impatient among the drivers who tend to jump the signal creating chaos.Over speeding red light jumping triple driving by youngsters,lane driving and and driving with out helmet are all not strictly enforced.To some extent Delhi citizens road culture is also a reason for the lawlessness.

Traffic Management is very poor. Though there is separate traffic force in every district but they are hardly to be seen managing traffic during peak hours. Also whenever, there is some breakdown of any vehicle on any road, there is no quick action by the traffic police so as to come to the rescue of such a vehicle and as result there are big pile up of vehicles and traffic gets immensely slow.
