Chennai corporations

I live in Ponniamman Street off Besant Avenue. It is about a hundred steps from my apartment to the avenue. Here, the degree of cleanliness is pathetic. On the Avenue, it is much better. It appears the Corporation only cares about the big streets.

No services are provided by the Corporation of Chennai.No supervision by the officers from Zonal Officer level to Sanitary Inspector level. We cannot see any of the Councillors on the road ,they always plying on the very expensive SUV cars purchased in the name of Benamies with their political leaders picture on the Dash board and their party flags on the Bannet.Ther are are more than 20 political persons are with the Councillors as their body guards/Commission and collection agents and so on.

There is no cleaning appears to take place; however very much it is sure that Garbage is collected regularly. In our street only garbage trolleys are employed to collect the garbage from door to door basis. A carbage bin is provide at one extreme end of the road, which is not sufficient to about 100 apartments on this street. We have not much monitoring their timings. But sure one has to be watch of their coming, as there is no alarm or signal is given of their arrival. Many days we fail to deposit. Better they may be advised to give whistle type alarm of their arrival.

road laying as well as road maintenance is absolutely terrible;makes one think whether the people who do the job know how it is to be done.
