Why no MRP Compliance on stock post GST

Having gone through each of the comments, I, as a consumer myself, retired submit this for your consideration; it is impossible for any manufacturer to overnight or within one month or two, to reach all the stocks that have been sent to the retailers all over India. Remember that the largest marketing /distribution system is in India (than the rest of the world - you can check on the internet. And pushing the stocks is also is a very logistical nightmare. That goods and services reach every nook and corner. Therefore, only a limited amount of stocks can be recalled/pasted with new prices. I have personally have seen these stickers in a remote village in TN (I hail from Delhi though). It is a misconception that all manufacturers and sellers are cheating you. The best way is then DON'T BUY FROM THEM. I DON'T BUY WHEN I FIND A DIFFERENCE. Let's be practical; how many peope/employees are in the various departments ? Very small I should say given the market place size. more

Pl buy packaged product without MRP and file complaint in consumer forum. You will also find contravention to Food Safety Act also. more

it is an excuse which is not permitted by law i.e Legal Metrology Act and falls under Unfair Practices against which one can file complaint in consumer forum after getting cash memo aqs MRP is inclusive of all taxes. There are specific guidelines to mark new MRP without covering old MRP. For reduction in MRP it is the duty of Retailer and manufacturer respectively, to inform the consumer by displaying at shop and marking on Package product the right of consumer to negotiate and seek cash memo more
