US ticketing and luggage allowance

If one is buying tickets from India and then travelling domestically within US, do they have to pay for extra luggage on domestic flights. What is the rule these days.

any airlines that give you luggage allowance and treat you as international passenger if you book the India-US leg and domestic with them? more

Thanks all. this was helpful. more
For domestic travels , whether within US or even in India, the country air line rules are followed. You will not get same baggage allowance as on international travels unless your luggage is booked while checking in, directly to your final destination. more
Yes,baggage rules are diff for int and domestic carriers and you have to pay for baggage,25 usd or 50 depending on the carrier. Allowances and charges are mentioned on website and one can prepay atleast in Us but not if one has booked a Dom sector connecting int travel from India. more
It must be airlines policy . Why don't you buy online from the american airline companies more
