Transfer of your return of income to Jur AO

Hello, Today I have received an email from CPC stating my ITR which I uploaded back in 2010 has been transferred to jurisdictional AO for AY:2010-11. The reason stated is ''Jurisdictional Assessing Officer has requested for the return / Processing of your return has already initiated by the Jurisdictional Assessing Officer (AO)"

Should I treat this as any regular correspondence or I need to do any action? There was a small demand pending for that AY primarily because of mismatch with 26AS credit statement due to the fault of my previous employer in TDS submission. I anyway I already paid off the demand in May 2016 as soon I received it. more

Around the same period I had similar problem about mismatch. However, I had hard copy of form 16 sent by the employer. Based on that, I was asked to apply for re-assessment (enclosing the original form 16 sent by the employer). The matter got settled then and there itself. I got the refund. more
that means we have to keep all the papers from when we had been e filling. there should be one e-shelf/digi locker where we can keep all the papers which JAO will access and will give his speaking order. it is really difficult to go back to 5 years back. this time i didn't find out the column where i shall fill the bill no. and date for 80G certificates and it is also told in Red not to send any paper to Bangalore.....means there is at least 1% chance that i have to pay tax on the contribution amt that i had made 'with penalty' to JAO. this word JAO is very much Greek to me. The WS does not say : 'sent for the perusal of JAO......you are in the Q and it may take about 5 years at the present rate'................Dhanya Ho. Ehi hain Efilling !!! Thank you all. @Mr Vinod. Yes I am aware I should have contacted employer to rectify. However, back in 2009 AY, there was nothing like 26AS credit statement available to us and confirm if employer is actually submitting TDS. Later I changed jobs and it was too much of hassle to followup. 4 Accountants changed between the time I got demand notice and the date of ITR! Since I have paid off the demand to avoid any issues. Lets see what happens. Here in UP, Noida - visiting AO is task in itself. Nothing gets done easily! more
Pls read nothing to worry... more
