Transaction charges on credit card payments

It has been noticed that Showrooms of companies selling laptops and other electronic items like DELL and HP are charging 2% extra charges, if payment is done through credit card . They say the Banks charge 2%. This is a deliberate cheating of consumers and no banks are charging extra over and above the actual price. Consumers can refuse such charges illegally done. more

Banks are cheating, the public deposit they manipulate, they spend lakhs in interior decorations, they pay less interest on deposit, so they can take more salary. Top management of bank have taken huge bribe from default like mallya and others more
KSN Sukumar is right this is being done by shopkeepers so that they can sell you goods without showing actual sells. This allows them to generate Black Money. The Taxes on sells are already high and adding 2% extra one agrees to purchase on cash as cheques are not accepted and generally you don't carry cheque books. Why can't Government think like Government of Norway and use Hydrogen produced from water, on demand. This will revolutionise the Country's Economy, Government will not need to impose TAXES People will get: Cheap Transportation, Low Taxi Fares, Lower cost of Travelling, Lower Cost of Electric Power, Less consumption of Fossil Fuels, Low Pollution, Earn Carbon Credits, Create More employment, People in Villages will get cheap power to run village and Cottage industries and many more benefits one can think of. Its not a dream. Please see for yourself on http://hhosavenaturesavefuture.blogspot.in/ more
Not only showrooms, even retailers like silver and gold merchants are doing this. They do this to discourage payment by Credit cards. In fact, they clearly say that the banks charge additional amount and hence they would continue. What is the way out? Where can we complain? Some clarity should exist. I have shouted at a seller and told him that I would take him to Consumer court etc. Who has the time? more
This should not happen. The matter should be dealt seriously by the concerned authoritgies. more
