Traffic jam on Mumbai - Pune expressway
Horrible traffic jam! Mumbai to Pune expressway is fully jammed right from Khalapur food mall for the entire 20-30km through the ghats, almost till Lonavala. Never seen it so bad! If you’re heading towards Pune, do yourself a favour and turn back. more

Too many vehicles plying on road on daily basis that needs to be controlled.. People should avoid using personal vehicle and focus on use of Public transport / Hired cabs.. more

A big problem with our country is lack of capacity augmentation over time. Mumbai-Pune expressway has not be expanded since inception and that is where the problem lies. It needs two more lanes on either side as well as the Lonavala bypass. Besides, the government should have also re-done NH-4 (the old road to near express class to be an alternative to the expressway.) Lack of foresignt, planning and selfish politicians is the primary cause. We need more and more infrastructure. Anything built today needs capacity augmentation within 5 years. Mumbai-Pune expressway is the same since it 2002 (over 20 years!). That is a shame. Its just a 95 km highway and can be expanded in one year if the powers that be, care. more

Too many vehicles and our roads do not have the capacity to ply them New tunnel to eliminate Jams in the Ghat Section is being made. It May help for some time and then again the the stoty will be repeated more

Traffic problems will worsen in future. No one wants to follow rules. People feel traveling in car is a status symbol rather than public transport. Every big highways are becoming unsafe. No strict action against Traffic rule invaders. Neither Administration has interest to cultivate discipline among the travellers. Even internal city roads are facing daily traffic jams. Severe actions should be taken against law invaders or else things will deteriorate further. more
