Unfair for domestic workers
Our cook earns ~₹15k/month.
After yrs, she had ₹6 lac in savings which was in 2 FDs of ₹3 lac each as a 3 yr FD.
The FD matured last month & Bank of Maharashtra cut ₹3500/- as TDS without even asking her to submit an exemption form
When she complained, they brushed her off saying you can reclaim from Govt.
So now she has to file an IT return to reclaim this money. She has never filed a return & probably will have to spend money to do that.
This is completely unfair on low income earners! more

Please help her in submitting Form 15 G for the FD accounts so that bank does not deduct tax for the FY 2023-2024. more

Now she has to first check whether Aadhaar and PAN is linked if not check the spelling in both are matching or not. If not she has to correct it and link it by paying fine. This all she has to do before June. So for getting her hard earned money interest she has to go hear and there which is very pathetic. more

PSU Banks never apply their mind. They act mechanically. The maid should take Mr Pravinkumar Patils help for filing thr Return. Next however IT Dept is likely to be after the maid for filing the return for that year. Can this be avoided? more
