The other side of price fixing which does not take the consumer for a ride the retailers and small businesses are affected and the GOVT hoodwinked by virtue of the various tax rates.
ALL major mobile brands excluding Sony and LG are guilty, the brands sell to the e businesses at the lowest possible prices far below their market.
Modus Operandi
THE MOBILE COMPANIES HAVe A COMMON PRICING FOR THEIR PRODUCTS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.
THE VAT RATES VARY FROM 3% TO 14.5%.
NATURALLY THE PRE VAT RATES IN THE HIGH TAX STRUCTURE STATE WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS BY 11 TO 12%.
A TRANSFER FROM HIGH TAX RATESTATETO ALOW TAX RATE STATE WILL AT MOST ENTAIL 2% CENTRAL SALES TAX.
ADVANTAGE REDUCED BY 2%.
LEAVING 9+% TO PLAY AROUND WITH.
WHEN BILLED FROM A LOWSALES TAX RATE TAX AT 4% OR SO WOULD BE APPLICABLE .
LEAVING A 5% ADVANTAGE TO THE 'e' SELLERS
who have made a decent buck at the cost of the public exchequer.
THE BRICK AND MORTAR STORES THE REAL RETAILERS wHO HAVE OVER THE YEARS BUILT UP THEIR INFRA STRUCTURE ARE HARD PRESSED TO STAY AFLOAT WITH THE UNFAiR MARGINS AND THE HAND IN HAND POLICIES OF THE MULTINATIONAL BRANDS AND 'e'companies.
would request participation for better understanding over 800 crores of business is expected in the current financial year imagine the loss to the govt and the gains to the multinational 'E' BUSINES more

MUKESH SAHIB: YOUR deep study is sufficient for some one like SONY and LG , including yourself, TO RAISE THIS ISSUE to our GOVERNMENT who have bigger role to play and easy access to the Govt. policy maker, to improve the exchequer. May I request to all the BJP supporters, active in this circle, to make it visible to the GOVERNMENT ATTENTION AND ACTION FOR NEGLECTING THIS ISSUE. more
I agree with the comments about Mobile companies are reducing the prices and giving offers in sale . G.K.Naidu, Hyderabad more
Absolutely correct. Will introduction of GST haelp? What about discount given by dealer/ retailer - sometimes it is substantial. more
A valid point quoted here 5 % margin. Why is the government unaware of this situation? This can be used to reduce fiscal deficit or reduction in subsidies to companies. more
Thank u for your encouragement. more
