Service Tax

The service tax on a prepaid sim or insurance service or anything else is a dampener and too high per global stds.

May be local circles members can take lead and do something on it. Middle class even upper middle is getting pinched badly. Discretionary service spend is bound to go down. more

service tax.... but where these money goes. does govt. is getting money from , whomsoever taking service tax from us. like. telephone, hotels etc. etc. are these companies are really paying service taxes to govt...???? if you are resident of mumbai ... In mumbai we are using bombay electrical state transport supply for electrical sources... now this best is collecting.. transport section minus tax.. it is due to best transport is getting minus profit. I am paying nearly rs.800 towards this transport section as a source of tax per month.... ... still there are so many unforeseen losses to the middle class which are hide in the consumable items as well as non-consumable items.. i feel the middle class is losing purchasing power rather getting goods/items. this will inturn negative approach and depression in the middle class. more

Service tax should be based on providing good services as the name indicate. In providing any service, if any component is used, there should be no service tax on the components. In India people still do not recognize much the value of service in comparison to products and look for free or economical service. Imposing tax on service will make it still more costly and both service provider and service taker will try to evade service tax. Hence service tax should be low, preferably not above 5%. more
