Relocated the Dogs back - Ridiculous
A total of 29 stray dogs were recently caught by the East Delhi Municipal Corporation from the premises of the Guru Teg Bahadur and Swami Dayanand hospitals and sent for sterilisation.
EDMC Standing Committee chairperson B. B. Tyagi said on Friday that the canines were caught by dog catching vans and handed over to an NGO for sterilisation and immunisation. However, due to a Supreme Court ruling the dogs will soon be back at the hospitals as relocation is not allowed.
“We have to put back the dogs at the spot where they were picked up from, but they will not be dangerous anymore after the sterilisation,” said EDMC spokesperson Y. S. Mann.
The EDMC has caught 12,790 stray dogs from July 2012 to July 2014. more
Rita Chawla ji... I really wonder if you actually love your pet dogs or not..It is like saying..I love breed dogs but hate desis..or saying that I love rich children but hate poor orphans..Strays can easily be befriended with..I am sure your intentions were not to discriminate but I really think that the people who theirselves have dogs definitely know the joy of having dogs around..be it pets or strays..Dogs are dogs...they can bite if not treated properly..Even pet dogs bite if they are unnecessarily pushed to odd situations...don't they? more
Satya Pal Ji... Yes you can know which dogs are neutered and which are not..usually they clip one of the dog's ears as a sign of sterilization..if that is done, most often than not, the dog is sterilized..and now coming back to WHY SHOULD THEY BE PUT BACK ON ROADS? Well, first of all, they keep rats and cockroachers from coming onto the surface...and they prevent snakes and other reptiles too... The biggest example can be from Gujarat in 1984 where 4 Lac dogs were killed and withing a week, rats occupied the land since they were not living in fear anymore and half of the district was plagued...Their essence in our ecosystem is useful specially when our sewage systems and environment isn't as modified and good as that of EUROPEAN COUNTRIES... Moreover, they guard their area and keep dogs from other area away... If they are being aggressive, it is mostly wrong on the part of people around who fail to win their trust since it is really very easy to win their trust..Once that is done, they will be your companions and not nightmares...Remember, these are dogs and not humans...the most they can do to harm you is bite..that too if provoked or not befriended with... The biggest fear is the people amongst us...who kill, rape, murder, kidnap and sell their own children.. more
So? If they are taken away..the area will be replaced by other dogs...and since they are now sterilized, there will be no more litters and dog aggression will also decrease because of hormonal changes...Secondly, all that needs to be done is get them vaccinated if they have not been till now... Try and create harmony with these dogs...They wont bite for no reason..They are not human yet more
Strays if put back on our streets will still continue attacking us and our pet dogs its just that we will not get rabies more
