Re-packing of old/expiry date Food Products
I have got 1 Box of Gift Packing of Haldiram's Nagpur by name ROYAL CELEBRATION consisting of (Gulab Jamun, Soan Papdi, All in One, Lemon Bhel). It is observed in packing date details, 2 different dates are put 14th Oct 2017 & 13th Aug, 2018, it gives us impression that company is supplying expiry date material after changing dates on the boxes. I am also sending you photo of the same for your further enquiry in the matter.
I have written mail to company on customercare@haldirams.com on 14th Dec 2018, but got very unconvincing reply by telephone that this is due to excess box got printed hence they have again put new dates.
Please suggest what remedy we have got as a consumer.

Sometimes even the retailler smudges the dates so that it is not visible. Often the date of expiry is not displayed at all. One retailer told me it is because the goods had just arrived. I told him they are not to be displayed on their shelves without the mandatory date of pkg/date of expiry. He confessed that most of the customers do not view the dates acutely as I do. These so called reputed company can easily fool us because we have blindly established faith on them. These old practice is empoyed not only in food products but also in medicines I hope. more

We have to create awareness to public on these and bring down the business so that the manufacturers review their methods of manufacturing taking into account the defects pointed out. more

Very bad. If a Company like Haldiram does such things, action must be taken against the company. more

Yes we see a Packed date in 2017 and 2 use before dates . People have taken us to be fools ? more
