Ratio of MRP to Average Selling Price

I agree with some of the discussions on fictitious MRP.

I propose a rule is made that the ratio of MRP to Average Selling Price should not exceed 2 in any circumstances. This will drastically reduce fictitious mrp business

This means that a product with average selling price of 50 rupees should not have a MRP of 101. 100 rupees is ok.

This will ensure that manufacturers publish only realistic mrps on their products.

I want to know how does this change after gst? more
There is need to fix realistic MRP on medicines, surgical items, hardware/electricals/garments. On many such items, the MRP is as high as 2000% with no check by Govt. bodies. The dimentions and quantities in each packet should be checked randomly. The culture of free for all unscrupulous businessmen should end at the earliest. After independence no Govt. applied its mind to control corruption, adulteration, population and fixation of MRPs. Majority of the member of Govt. Machinery became partners in systematic loot and turned billionaires during the last 50 years. more
MRP should not be more than 50% of the actual price.

Already star hotels looting HNI group for MRP (who also make money thr cheating) reason they fix the price as per their whims & fancies and food controller is corrupted and can't do anything becos again these star hotels are managed by big corporates who nexus with politicians !! god save this country !! as it is recently proved almost all pathanjali products are adulterated and no genuine of herbal/ayur nature and failed in food safety standards !! more
Dear Sir, Directorate of Legal Metrology under Legal Metrology Act 2009, which MRP is mandatory for prepackaged items has no power to fix the price of the package.  Dr. S. V. GuptaMAPAKI RATAN269/B-5, Sector 8RohiniDelhi 110085 On Thursday, 1 June 2017 9:20 AM, Bharat Lal wrote: more
It is not right. Why a product with MRP of 50/- Rs. should be marked 100/-Rs. It is looting. Already the MRP is inflated with all the cost of production, selling expenses , marketing cost , dealer commission and retailer commission. If it has to be still inflated two times it is fleecing. Irrespective of the place where the product is sold why should be inflated. If in a theater no food is allowed from out side then they are monopolizing and cheating customers. Why should they be allowed to do that. Every one has the right to eat what he wants. then why prevent them in taking things what they want. otherwise boycott the place. We in India meakly submit to all atrocities and do not raise our voice against injustice. Please do not recommend any price other than MRP. There could be only one MRP. more
