Punjab CM - you are an epic failure
For 4 years you have been seeing stubble burning and you were the CM in Nov 2017 and Nov 2018 and you still could not get seeders or whatever else to control your farmers.
Live for a month with PM 2.5 of 600 and PM 10 of 1000 in your house with your kids and grand kids to feel what we in Delhi are going through.

You are absolutely right. All politicians together with Bureaucrats , need to be dumped in a gas chamber, to awaken them to the realities of pollution of AIR, WATERWAYS AND CONGESSIIN ON ROADS, more
Farmers like employees are a big vote bank and no political party wants to annoy them. If the ruling party tries to take strict action against the farmers, the opposition party raises hue & cry and support the farmers. This is happening in the cases of loan defaults. In the process, the farmers are feeling above the law. THey are getting subsidies on all farm inputs, no income-tax, sale of all farm produce at MSP in every season, but do no pay off loans and do not want to spend any money on proper handling of stubble. They are expecting that the Govt. should pay them for doing so. If every body is selling his farm produce, he is resposible for safe disposal of waste also. Even well off farmers are getting the loans waived off due to vote bank politics. This is sheer waste of tax payers money. The food grains is already more than 2.5 times of the annual requirement and is getting rotten in unsafe stores of FCI, CWC and SWCs. The Govt. should instruct the farmers to cut rice production by 50% failing which the Govt. procurement agencies will not lift the excess quantity in next session. Why to pay tax payers money to buy food grain which is already in plenty in warehouses. Annual wastage/pilferage of food grains is in thousands of tons as no official/neta is accountable for throwing tax payers in drain. more
Sir,not right approach. If some incentive is directly provided to farmer he will not burn his own field. Are our government agencies only meant to fine people. If some way out is provided in form of Higher Return for produce and monetary relief for not burning residue, then we can resolve the issue. Today more than 90 pecent farmers are small and marginal .Cost of inputs and labour has increased. What can the Ho,ble CM s do if the advisors sitting in AC offices don't really care to listen to commoners. more
