Together, let us work towards a better Punjab! more

On the positive side, there are lots of development of the state, especially on road network and energy. You might have noticed that opposition parties are unable to accuse present government on these issues. But, on the negative side, people - especially in Malwa belt, but equally relevant to other regions - are emotionally surcharged with the issues of drugs, rampant corruption in government offices, delay and harassment in delivery of services of government offices, poor employment (and pay) among Matric/ +12 level educated youth, slow recruitment of youths in government and private sectors. Other issues that may fanned up by opposition are irrigation water and widespread pollution. The present govt needs to take-up these issues head-on. (As I see, opposition is wandering on issues like Chandigarh, that has lost relevance, but could still be emotional!). Immediate government attention is needed on stray animals - both dogs and cattle. The present govt may also have to loose votes on account of poor law and order in places like Ludhiana. Govt. has also lost credibility in management of the department of agriculture (as also PAU), and poor performance of municipalities/ corporation bodies. Caution: The overall standard of education across primary, secondary and higher education has also fallen during the current regime. This has created lots of frustrations among aspiring youths. Despite, lots of corruption by the previous Congress govt, present govt's record of punishing corrupt is unimpressive. Akali-BJP also has to be careful of transfer of Congress votes to AAP at the last moment of election as had happened in Delhi. more
No vision for development . All money collected from various taxes expend for self development and salaries. more
Punjab used to have one of the highest standards of living among Indian provinces. Alas! it has fallen behind. This is largely due to poor governance and bad policies at the provincial level. While other provinces have leapt forward by better governance, new investments and modernizing and adopting new technology, Punjab government continues to be mired in old slogans and old ways. It is really a shame. ________________________________ From: LocalCircles Manager Sent: August 19, 2016 9:00 PM To: virendragupta@hotmail.com Subject: New post "Welcome to Punjab State C..." in [Residents of Punjab] more
