problem of heart beat slow

my mother's heart beat is slow i.e. around 40-50. Doctor has already given for holter test. heart beat is 2:1. Her age is 65 yrs.now doctor prescribed for pacemaker.i want to know how much cost is this in delhi area & is it successful. more

Certain medicines prescribed for heart ailments also reduce heart beat, hope she is not on any such medicine. Better get a second opinion before going for pacemaker. more

I have had a pacemaker installed since 2000 and it was replaced in 2007. It is life long. The question is whether you have sought a second opinion. If not, I would advise it. Further there are many makes of pacemakers now available so choose wisely more
