PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (N 95 MASK) ON DOCTORS PRESCRIPTIONS ONLY :

The Circle members have been making several complaints inthe Circles of W .& M. , PROFITEERING , & SURAKSHA Circles .

The concerned Authoritie W.M , or any concerned has to check , charge a penalty for illegitimately charging extra upto 40 to 50 % higher than MRP. by the Retailer Chemist .

Instead the Maharashtra Food & Drug Administration (FDA) brings a new mandate that N 95 Masks have to be sold only on doctors Prescription.

* Should the doctors clinics be crowded now and waste more time of the Mask seekers ?

* This will unduly favour the online traders who arrange for prescription Free .

INSTEAD FDA KINDLY CHECK THE GREEDY TRADERS EXPLOITING THE SITUATION PLEASE . more

It is my understanding that N95 masks are not essential unless you are moving in such pro-virus environment like hospitals or long journey by trains in closed environment etc. and to perhaps regulate their misuse, GOM must have made prescription compulsory. I have in fact heard WHO warning to prevent their misuse on Wion TV. more
Interesting that masks be given only under prescription. Nowadays, almost ALL drugs (including those which come under Schedule H, X etc) are sold without prescription by pharmacists. See this extract from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drugs_and_Cosmetics_Rules,_1945: "Schedule H drug. Warning : To be sold by retail on the prescription of a Registered Medical practitioner only" prominently. It can only be supplied to licensed parties. It cannot be sold without a prescription and only the amount specified in the prescription should be sold. The time and date of prescription must be noted." In spite of the above, pharmacies indulge in all sorts of unethical behviours just to sell drugs. So, we need not worry. Even if prescriptions are made mandatory, pharmacies will sell the masks by putting wrong registration numbers. more
If the mask is sold on the prescription then you have to pay the doctors fee. I don't think prescription is necessary for buying mask. It should be available in all the medicine shops more
In fact they should be sold at all travel points as an essential form of protection. more
Mask is required for a patient who has the virus. It is now stated that wearing a mask does not prevent getting the virus and it's transmission is through droplets and contact of mouth & nose by one's own hand. more
Sir, any way Mask is a must for the infected . That is stop them from infecting people around when they sneeze or cough . more
