I am afraid no traders take into account the portion of the tax credit available on a particular product to pass on the benefit to the consumers neither the revised MRPs are shown on the items of pre-GST regime. Issuing notification alone will serve no purpose unless the ministry ensure meticulous implementation thereof by the traders and punitive actions are taken against those fail to comply with the guidelines. Due to the failure of the government in protecting the consumers' interests since implementation of the new taxing pattern, anti-incumbency public opinion is mounting up every day. more
How will you ensure the implementation? more

We have sufficient stock in our stores pre-GST regime. Now whenever we take anything out from it to sell appropriate GST is levied. This amounts to that we have these at no cost. No refund can be claimed. We are in this trade since May, 1975. It is a sole proprietary concern, started after retirement from the services.Stocks got piled up over the years. Never had resources to arrange for a valid inventory. What is the way out. Is there any relief? Please suggest. With warm regardsG.B. Fully agree with Mr. Gopabandhu Mahapatra. If notifications were serving all the purposes - then there had been no black money or requirement of Police (and hence jails). All notification issuing authorities need to ensure that the contents of the notifications are being observed in letters and spirit, and also that the consequences of violations are also being dealt with accordingly. more
