Thanks for this important information, dear Brij, but then there surely must be a local name for this plant you describe in botanical language as "Dumb Cane or Dieffenbachia". Would a man-on-the-street really know what these names mean? Looking at the pictures you've posted, I am inclined to think of it as the so-called "money plant" which naturally has a very different significance in our households. Would much appreciate your throwing more light on this, thanks! more

Please don't always trust whatever you get through forwarded mails. Please verify the authenticity before sharing with others so that we don't misguide the masses due to our ignorance. This warning quite significantly exaggerates the risk of death associated with dieffenbachia poisoning. The results of dieffenbachia poisoning are normally not life threatening and victims usually make a full recovery. Research indicates that actual fatalities in humans are extremely rare.
