MRP at airport for food

Many thanks to the moderator for victory. I say that at the Airport, reasonably priced Tea & Snack are not available. Air Travel unlike in past is not limited to Rich / Middle cast person. A commoner has to report early to get boarding pass. After security he / she finds that flight is delayed. It is further sad that not only so called economical airline but most airline like Air-India has stopped serving meal.

Under the circumstances, Both Airline & at airport Tea, Water & snack Must be available at a reasonable price. more

I have recently observed at Calcutta airport which is run by AAI, that there are no drinking water dispensers in the departure area at any of the gates and water bottles are sold by the vendors there at MRP, which is not less than Rs. 60 per bottle of 750 ml. So don't be just happy if they are selling items at MRP. Check the MRP and you will find it much above the local market MRP. In contrast, the same 750 ml water bottle is sold through automatic vending machine at Rs. 20 at Hyderabad Airport, which runs under PPP model. It is the nexus between Airport staff and the vendors at Calcutta which works to loot helpless passengers. more
This message in un-understandable in the absence of the nature of victory. Just a few days back, we travelled by Indigo flights between Hyderabad & Varanasi and paid Rs.100/- for on=board tea. more
Dear Mr Kareem, Pl read the follwing news Following the orders of Airports Authority of India, more than 90 government-run airports across the country will soon sell packaged drinking water at the maximum retail price (MRP) along with snacks and tea at the lowest rate possible. This move came after a complaint lodged by a passenger, according to officials familiar with the development, reports Hindustan Times. The report said that AAI has asked airports to sell packaged water and snacks at MRP at a separate counter. However, these rules are not applicable to some of India’s biggest airports — Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kochi, as these airports are run by private companies. “We have asked airport directors to ask the company that is managing food courts at airports to have a counter where water bottles and sandwiches are sold at MRP. We have also told them to sell tea and coffee at Rs 10. They will also ensure that some cheap snacks, such as samosa, are sold at lesser rates,” said a senior AAI official who asked not to be named, HT cited. Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, and Guwahati are some of the busy airports operated by AAI in terms of air traffic. Passengers have raised the issue of lack of options of restaurants in the airports like Kolkata and Lucknow and complaints of expensive food times like Rs 50 for a cup of tea are lodged at Imphal airport, wherein Guwahati there's only one restaurant.
