we need to understand that retail prices on the average have a markup of between 50-100%..this is not a new phenomenon but age old..the retailer has to invest in the stock for which there is an interest cost,have to invest in retail space which is not cheap,employ sales and service personnel and above all make profit not only for themselves but also to provide more comfort to the customer...so 60-80% which is being reported is the normal mark up in retail... more

This is true. Due to Pandemic the prices of most of the items have sky rocketed, specially food items have gone up beyond a limit. more
Then why MRP is 4 times the actual selling price? I used to purchase rock salt at rs 20/kg. Because of lockdown I had to purchase from shop near to me.The same item cost rs 80/kg as that was the MRP printed on the packet!!! more
yes during Lockdown period period prices had sky rocketed as the ttention of the Gvernment was on containing the infection, making equioments available for Hospitals, Medical workers and Public.
TThas when all prices went up and since then we are struggling as the prices havnt come to the PreCovid 19 position at all. more
One thing is clear, if Customer finds the product too expensive they can refuse to buy it. more
