Pension money must not be taxed. The Sr. citizens have no other way to live life without this meager amount. more
Yeah, paying taxes and living with respect and honour is one of them, but what Chandrasekaran has mentioned is very true. Many a cases, Children is still studying at abroad (in case of late issues) and parents have become seniors and they have to pay taxes and for education fees for their children. In other cases, elder son is not sufficiently earning and hence the next son or daughter will be burdened and if they are residing in abroad, the parents have to pay tax and look after the elder son who maybe differently abled. if the Child can't earn and he too has crossed 50 years and he has his parents who are senior citizens, this is still worse to see he'll not be able to get a job eventhough he is a technically qualified person, but on age factor he has failed to get a job. How to take care of such situations which should have some factors which can be handled carefully. more
The seniors or super seniors are put to hardships by deducting tax from their pension. Government must know how the poor and old manage their household with meagre amount. Quite frequent cases of children not taking care of their parents, (due to disintegration of joint family culture too nuclear family and most of them are working in abroad)upon that government also makes their lives miserable. Instead it should help the seniors by providing rebate to their purchase of medicine, purchase of provision items from departmental store by showing valid sr. citizen card. kc more
