Less Cash Operations & Banking Changes required

Today, we find that almost all the banks are following one good policy, that is, to provide an All India Account Number to each of it’s customer. Great!

Today, most of the Bank Accounts are linked to customer’s Aadhar card. Then whether the customer stays in that locality or shifts far away, or to another city, is there a real need to shift the bank account to another locality or another city?

It is said that for the purpose of Filing Income Tax Returns, it is better that one files it in the city/locality where one resides, because in case of any clarification required from either side, there is no unnecessary time delay.

It is also observed that many branches of banks, over a period of time, start ignoring the customer’s problem, and instead of solving them, they throw the ball in customer’s court.

In such a case, it is now time, that the option of Portability of Bank Accounts, either from one branch to another, or from one bank to another, should be available with each of the customers.

Can the Finance Minister, please look into this possibility? more

DEAR ALL,BEING RETIRED BANKER AND PART OF MIDDLE MANAGEMENT,I DO AGREE WITH SH.ANAOKAR JI. BUT HE WILL ALSO AGREE THAT MISGUIDING CUSTOMERS IS HIGHLY OBJECTIONABLE AND UNFORTUNATE ON PART OF DEALING STAFF DUE TO MARKETING WHICH IN TURN GIVES VERY MUCH PAINFUL FEELING AS IF CHEATED,EVEN BY SMALL AMOUNT. TO CUT SHORT THESE PRIVATE SECTORS BANKERS DOING EXACTLY SAME THING. NOW OF LATE SBI STARTED DOING SAME AS I FEEL,VIZ., MIN.BALANCE LIMIT OF 5000/-IN METRO ACCOUNTS IF I AM RIGHT.THANKS. more

What we are discussing here is whether in Private Banks and Public center Banks we can our main transaction of withdrawal and deposits in any other Branch for the sake of convenience. Bank A/C no per se is not important whether you can carry your transactions is important. Please go to your Bank and check this. more
Ref : Anirudha Naik's version I may like to inform that each bank has their own rules , No common rule of customer service. They charge the customer if ask completion of pass book or bank statement. more
The Account no in the Bank is based on the system that code No. of particular Branch is essential feature. Now a days after six months of opening of the account in the particular Branch you can transact operations in any other Branch. If you carry essential documents such as Aadhar/ Pan Card/ Voter Id/ Passport to identify yourself by giving your check you can carry your transactions in any other Branch of the bank. more
