LAUDABLE INITIATIVES FROM THE ACTORS ASSOCIATION :
We have encountered several complaints from circle members on indiscreet pricing of cinema tickets, parking charges and the items sold at exorbitant charges in the theatres. What many Governments had failed to take it up the Actors Association and Tamil Film producers council has taken up , under the leadership of Actor Vishal.
5 PROPOSALS :
1 & 2.On line TICKET booking charges and parking charges as per Government charges.
3.Tickets should not be sold above the Govt. scheduled rates.
4.Food products to be sold only at MRP in Theatres.
5.Movie goers to be allowed to take their own water into Theatres .
The above 5 points are the proposals to the Theatres by the secretary of the Actors Association and President of the Tamil Film Producers Council . If this is adopted by the Theatres, and the film goers are firm in support of this , there will be great relief for the Cinema goers .
The attachment shows the G.S.T. LEVIED IS UNIFORM @ 28% ,
FOR ALL CLASS OF TICKETS , [Minimum to maximum]
ALL THE 3 CATEGORIES OF THEATRES. [Multiplexes ,A / C Theatres . Non A/c Theatres]
THE G.S.T. RATES LEVIED MAY BE IN A GRADED PATTERN ON THE BASIS OF ,
* THE BASE TICKET PRICE AND
*THE GRADE OF THE THEATRES.
AS IS LEVIED ON HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS . AT 0% , 12% ,18% , AND 28% .
THIS WILL GIVE GREAT RELIEF FOR THE PEOPLE FROM THE LOWER STRATA OF SOCIETY.

Once the pricing issue regarding overcharging is addressed, the other issue of allowing carrying the eatables from outside gets automatically addressed. If the prices are not overcharged, majority would not like to take it from outside. more

It will be good if all their 5 proposals are accepted and
arrived at.
Good that a ceiling in the ticket prices have
arrived at. Hope for the rest to follow from Theatre
owners side .

Personally I wouldn't support the proposition to carry eatables inside the theatre . Cinema theatre is a closed arena where 500 and more will be present. Eating snax will lead to littering . The littering of food material will attract pests of all sizes up to the size of Bandikoots also. That will be a health hazard. more

Sir, the people are still eating inside the theaters. The only difference is the restaurant employees are serving at the seats. So the situation remain the same in both ways. more

Bangalore particularly has exorbitant fares as there are well earning young people . more

Nothing seems to be in the hands of the government. Regulations should be there by the government departments for the benefit of the general public. more
