injustices by income-tax department

Post of ramrao Vellampalli in consumer circle. Can localcircles devise a way where users post relevant posts in relevant circles and not randomly?

Respected sir
the income-tax department demanding the old tax demands even five, six years old. at the same time they are not accepting the
2017 -2018 assessment year returns even the assesses having TDS.

when we file our return online ,the income tax department providing an acknowledgement which is downloadable from the website. then why the e.verification process.
if any assesses not e.verified with in the time ( 120 days) the return would be invalid.
in this situation we demand that if the return was invalidate by the
department make the tax payment refund.
OR
kept the status of the return as : NOT PROCESSED DUE TO ..............
1. NOT E.VERIFIED 2. INFORMATION PENDING. 3. ..... more

Why the e-verification? Same question was asked from a Tax Professional. The reply was: This is just to verify that the assessee is aware about his return and the details mentioned therein. In the past, there have been instances where the assessees denied having filed the returns by them. They claimed that the returns were fake as they were not filed by them. So, this reply I feel was justified for e-verification. more
Dont go into details. Just demand that an officer be made accountable and punishable, if he does a visible wrong thing. Today, ITO can do injustice to u and if u complain that this is clearly wrong, he says "Go to Appeal". Even if u win appeal, ITO is not concerned. more
Either E verification or print the return and send it by post. more
