Inflated MRPs online

I know the localcircles has been very active in solving consumer issues by sensitise Govt officers.

Here I have example of a book that has MRP of 1199. The seller on amazon the famous variety book depot of Delhi is inflating the mrp of the product in the listing to show a 62% discount while in reality discount is less than 5%

What ever rules are being made must call out listing products at inflated mrp an unfair trade practice and define how much fine would be there per product and if x number of incidents are found then seller is blacklisted.

Please escalate this LC. more

We may be aware of the MRP Issue that cropped up on bottled water . MRP marked Rs. 20 being sold for musch more that in Hotels . When Legal Metrology Dept. pulled up a Hotel on the issue , the S.C. ruled that , the hotels neednt be covered under LM as the extra charges are for the Ambience and comforts. May be as Mr. Anil Sharma stated that dual MRPs is marked on this basis for different supply patterns ! more
Return the product to Amazon citing the difference. They will be cautious next time. more
Inflated MRP is an unfair trade practice and rules should be framed to penalise the seller. more
There must be immediate regulatory norms/rules/laws for e-commerce (online trades). more
