Inflated MRPs - Cost to MRP ratio of 1000+pct
Everyone see this attached video. Medical product manufacturers mark MRP of 1000+% from the cost price.
We need Govt to bring a simple law. Trade Margin cannot be above 200% i.e. syringe cost price is 5. MRP has to be 15 or lower.

There has to be a limit the way Reputed Hospitals are charging for medicines and equipments.When Govt itself does not have any ethics,how can it tell others to have ethics.Politics has gone to its lowest ebb. more

Cost of production of medicine is very less. Rs 1 cost sell/MRP at Rs 20-25. most of the case. Manufactures are adding Adv, R&D, Doctor% , profit to make it more cost. As demand increase they raise their MRP and profit. more

TO REGULATE PRICE MRP WAS INTRODUCED.NOW,MRP IS TO BE REGULATED,WHAT IS THE POINT ONE WAY WILL BE IF SUFFICIENT COMPETITION CAN BE GENERATED /ENCOURAGED SO THAT MONOPOLIES ARE DISCOURAGED.SECONDLY,GENERIC DRUGS MANUFACTURE/AVAILABILITY SHOULD BE INCREASED SO THAT HIGHER PRICES ARE NOT CHARGED IN THE NAME OF BRAND. more

Medicines and medical equipments should declare ex-factory price pluss the distribution cost plus margins of dealer and retailer be not more than 150% (with three stages in the distribution). In case of direct selling to hospitals there should be no distribution cost at all (i.e. ex-factory price should be the MRP). Besides, in the case of subsidised supplies to hospitals (particularly the government hospitals) the products should be charged to the customers at ex-factory price which must be justified by the manufacturers. more
