Indian Honey Adulterated with Chinese Syrup!

‘Chinese syrup makes Indian honey unsafe’- reported Financial Express on December 3, 2020. It has been mentioned that most Indian brands tested by CSE - Dabur, Patanjali, Baidyanath and Zandu, among others, failed the test. Only Saffola, Markfed, Sohna and Nature’s Nectar, passed the test.

Ironically, it appears, the government may have been aware of this as since August this year, it has made the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) test mandatory for honey that needs to be exported; this test that helped CSE establish its findings has, however, not been made compulsory for honey that is sold locally. It is not understood why Indian consumers are being taken for a ride! Why different standards for the same product are being permitted by our regulatory agencies?

i doubt the findings are funded by unscrupulous elements no one knows these brands as popular in honey i.e saffola, marfed , nature . test honey with this , pour a small spoon of honey in a small bowl add cold water to it at least 10-16 spoons , now stir the bowl with hand slowly not with spoon, if you see a bees nest ( bee hive) shape forming the honey is real , actually its the signature of beehive from which honey is extracted it will not form if sugar is added or it is sugar more
Virtually there is no punishment for adulteration/fake/duplicate products in India. If severe and quick punishment is provided by amending the existing dead laws, it will have cascading effect on such rouge elements. more
I've started doing organic farming with my folks. Me and my pals have few farm lands. Our output is not much at the time but our production quality is top. At this time no corporation should be trusted. We should grow and eat like our forefathers. These so called farmers are scammers. They just put chemicals in soil for growth. more
Yes, Mr. Gogate, we the local Indians are less than animals in the eyes of the government that is why we do not matter. Even if we die nobody would be the wiser, so be it. Let them export the better kind and give us the poorer stuff. more
Let FSSAI examine the report and take suitable action. more
