Gst levied above MRP by DTH and cable guys
See these people of incable charging gst above mrp on channels. I have been told even tata sky others are doing this and its industry norm.

As per GST rules, the price/ cost/ service should include GST. Any deviation should be taken seriously. more

It is clearly stated in the TRAI order that GST is applicable on the MRP(exclusive of GST). So there is no confusion on that. Another irregularity on the part of Cable operators is that they are interpreting the rules as per their own interpretation ignoring the facts. Hathway is charging network fee of R's. 130+20 +GST on 17 Paid channels+72channels i.e. Total 89 channels whereas on on upto 100 channels Network fee of only Rs.130+GST is applicable.. When I told them that it is not fair and legaI &I will not pay then they threatened to switch off my connection.. TRAI has made no arrangement to resolve such matters on the spot. Unless such rules are enforced by strictly penalizing the operators we consumers would continue to suffer irreparably.. more

It is unfortunate that even TRAI is allowing this. Above this cable operators allot 25 channels of DD of different languages out of 100 channels. TRAI does not clarify even if we write mail to das@trai.gvt.in, mail ID provided by TRAI - mrgmin@yahoo.com more

It must be "studying" your case. It will form a CITIZEN'S panel to sort out the issues raised by you and others and then amend the circulars after some months of completing its enquiry. Please be patient and keep on paying the charges till eternity. Refunds will be unjust enrichment, so do not expect them. more
