Ganesh chouti - changes needed by govt and citizens .

Every year well meant suggestions have been discussed thoroughly and nothing happens.
To summarise the changes desired-
1- The idols height should be limited to 2-3 feet.
2-The material used should be biodegradable and no chemical Painting for colours used.
3- The pandals are encroaching on to roads creating traffic impediments(usage of private empty spaces should be encouraged)
4-Unauthorised electricity is being drawn from poles directly must be penalised.( Charge all pandals installing temporary meters )
5- Forcible donations are being collected from shop keepers of the areas (police to act on this)
6-Usage of loud speakers must be restricted to 10 pm and the sound levels must be restricted to 90 decibels.
7- Usage of large water bodies for immersion must be prohibited.
8- prohibit loud speakers fire crackers, during processions, usage of Colours ,usage of alcohol, drugs, bhang, charas .
9- Unruly persons must be booked by police.
10- whole city is being forcibly shut to facilitate long processions causing inconvenience to normal life.
The religious feeling are to be kept subdued and gatherings at residential associations must not cause inconvenience to the sick, old and debilitated and other religious minorities.
Wastage of public tax payers money for arrangements of giant cranes, police and decoration, lighting is to be reviewed and must be kept minimum.
We love our country, religion, city and culture and we need to improve on our style of celebration also.Jaihind. more

Now that this year also the govt has not acted ,can we expect that new suggestions can be considered for next year Ganesh chouty as the Nimajjan is over today? Advance announcement of the intent of the state govt gives adequate notice to the groups .1- Height of idols limited to 1-3 feet ( electric wires lifting resulting in accidents of electrocution)(need of heavy cranes with its accidental snapping of crane cables resulting in death of Constable this year) 2-The money spent on renting huge tractors to carry idols ,bands ,decoration ,colours can be avoided. 3- Insisting on clay idols only . 4- cost of security in crores when state is reeling under shortages !To be saved by avoiding. 5- Traffic blockages, delays , loss of working days ( localised nimajjan ,no holiday to be declared . 6- wastage of public money on Laddu auctions . more
Well said I too want people n Govt should follow to avoid pollution waste of money etc more
Please visit Hyderabad and Secunderabad during the Ganesh Chathurthi festival. You can see that 99% violation of the Govt. orders regarding materials to be used, height , etc. There is some "Committee- comprising of some political party, and they "decide" these issues. Perhaps, our State Govt. allows these, because the violations are perishables and difficult to take any action. This happens everywhere in India. PLEASE TOLERATE IT, AS NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. . M.Balachandran . . On Wed, Aug 28, 2019 at 12:06 PM Prabhakarrao Yerragunta < support@localcirclesmail.com> wrote: > more
