Deaths on highways - causes

The best roads are in Telangana ,AP and specially capital city of Hyderabad.
But the death rates on these roads are increasing .
Dividers ,two lanes , four lanes roads, signals, luminicient painted road breakers etc apart from signals but the rates are increasing in deaths and maiming.
Over speeding ,drunkenness, tiresome ness, badly maintained vehicles ,careless driving are some which can be rectified by instituting regulations in some .
Automatic Speed controls in vehicles and checks on alcohol near toll gates to all long distance drivers, providing second drivers on all long haul vehicles ,yearly computer checks on vehicle fitness like in Gulf countries must be some solutions to think of .
Insistence on lane driving ,signalling ,prevention of J -driving,racing are some other corrective steps to be considered.
Patrolling by cops in high speed vehicles, with assistance if needed and towing gear, ambulance , trauma hospitals near high ways are some requisites .
Freephones( land line) on either side of highways every Km,prevent locals from crossing highways to save distance, insistence of usage of local roads are some more suggestions to be considered.
Training in CPR to all and specially uniformed forces and first aid will go a long way in reducing deaths and morbidity.
Display of excistence of trauma centres on the highways with toll free numbers and hospital casualty numbers is mandatory. more

Some thing to be done on high speeds, Animals on roads more
It isn't the city's Highways but the internal roads within Hyderabad 's upscale IT corridor that have reported the highest number of Accidents in recent times. Reasons for mishaps over speeding , drunk driving , Talking on phone while .driving, Driving without helmet, Driving i the wrong direction of traffic flow , jumping signal. 30% of victims are pedestrians I therefore request you to see that our state government does More Awareness programs, Introduce Lane driving by doing Road widenings, Wide foot paths and Zebra crossings for pedestrians all over the city. Lazer guns within the city roads as well along with all National high ways. Strict punishments for violating the rules should be done without any mercy in order to decrease Road accidents. Nandikanti Sai Kumar more
One more point of worry is the herds of sheep, buffaloes , cows crossing the road (main highway )which is forbidden but is being followed by locals with out fear .As the speeds cannot be controlled even by breaking. Accidents happen in avoiding the animals .Many deaths have resulted . Police should formulate rules that they must use local roads only and underpasses to cross the axis . Another point is lack of road shoulders to stop. In case of emergency or breakdown other wise if parking is done to the side inadvertent collision happens as speeds cannot be controlled on sudden sighting of a static parked vehicle . more
Yes it is essential to make a Device to control the Speed of all Vehicles to Maximum 80 KM . Govts. should enact a rule to keep the Maximum Speed limit to 80 KM at the Manufacturing stage itself. Periodically the authorities should check any alterations are made afterwards. MANNE.SN,B.Com.,LLB., for Vasudha Green Farms, 9133498366. more
As a member of Indian Police Foundation which is affiliated to Ministry Of Home Affairs I have been taking up issues in Hyderabad like bad traffic management, drunk driving , bad condition of roads due to unending Metro work Accidents on roads etc. After examination of all issues they are supposed to take up with the DGP of State Concerened for suitable follow up action. I am sorry to say so far no action has been initiated with the result Hyderabad residents continue to face inconvenience in their day to day life. K.P.SASTRY Member(Indian Police Foundation ) more
