E-Commerce unfair trade practices
Do not expect any thing from concerned department. At present there are no specific rules for E-commerce sale but the draft notification has already been issued which might be enforced from 01.01.2018 that is sufficient to clutch e-commerce websites if the department concerned would have will power.
At present if you find any double MRP or different MRP from the same product, available in the market, or STICKER having MRP, still you have right under consumer protection Act to file complaint at consumer forum as no sticker is allowed as per legal Metrology act 2009.
No one is permitted to put any MRP except manufacturer or the packager. Amazone is supplier and can not alter or put their own MRP. just file complaint. more

What about the stickers that Super markets affix right on top of the printed prices of packaged items effectively covering up the printed price from the view of the customer? more

Consumers are also expected to follow some discipline instead of encouraging such practice and then ask for govt rules more

Sir please explain what do you mean by some discipline. The whole world is consumers. Manufacturers/Traders/Government is not the whole world . may be 20% will be from this list. Is it easy to correct the 20% or the entire 100% more

The e-commerce issues arise due to 1) unethical business attitude of the companies (attributed to companies), 2) Lack of awareness, knowledge and temptation of buying the material at unbelievable prices (attributed to the consumer), 3) Poor implementation of the rules and regulations (attributed to Govt. and Police agencies), and ineffective and inadequacy of rules and regulations. All these require deliberations so as to plug-in the gaps appropriately. more

To thr best of understanding commerce company spell out the price at the time of ordering. The person who has no knowledge about pricing fall in their trap. Those who purchase through internet I think they are to some extent educated. If a person agree for a price. He/ she should pay. more

It is corrupt system BUT if we can nurture good officers at top, a difference can be made. One of the finest example is of Election commissioner Mr. Seshan who with same field force brought changes in election campaigning though he was pitted agains politicians and their goons. But did we appreciated it well ??!!! Person like him should have been a VVIP after retirement with due respect and affection. more
