DHBVN crores of ruppes scam must be ultimately ultimately burden on an ordinary consumer

I am attaching a news report published in NBT on 22/07/2020 bringing out a scam of crores of rupees in DHBVN. This money must be ultimately borne by an ordinary electricity consumer.

While on the above, I have also brought out an article on my blog bringing out scam of deceiving the domestic consumers which ultimately must be running into crores of rupees. Surprisingly all officials right from the sub-divisional office to the head office are suspected to be involved. This article has been shared with the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission for appropriate action. Sooner, the attention of Department of Consumers Affairs shall be drawn. Even though the article is based on Haryana DISCOMs, but similar practices may be across the country as electricity is covered under the Electricity Act. Consumers irrespective of any State may like to share their views on the problems being faced by them. more

@Gopabandhu Mohapatra, Sir Thanks for your keen interest. I have already requested Electricity Regulatory Commission for a thorough investigation. Initially I thought of raising a petition to ERC through this circle community. But I doubted about the enough members signing the petition. Therefore has submitted the papers for investigation. Incidentally, the consumer in this case has been provided a new connection with the service cable provided by DHBVN. more
Electricity Regulatory Commission should take appropriate action under various sections of the Electricity Act. The Consumers should abide by the rules. more
@Dr Neelam Nath, Mam, thanks for your keen interest in the post. All companies whether private or PSUs or the Government are mandated with the same regulations to be adhered to including the tariff orders. All companies are required to send SMS as per the regulations applicable for all the companies. Normally the PSUs and the Government Department are bestowed with more confidence than the private companies. Ultimately the consumers need to be more vigilant and only the vigilant people make a difference about the quality of services. Sometime back I raised a report of SMSes being sent by DHBVN and send it to all stakeholders. DHBVN was sending the wrong reasons for power outages prior to the report. Now after taking up the issue, they have now mostly the correct reason for power outages. more
It's a question of relativity Since electricity is privatized i have not used my inverter Recently I have been generating my own bills and getting correct bills generated I remember days of Delhi vidyut board of 90s and board examination of my children There used to be No Electricity for days Lineman needed to be bribed and a self proclaimed Chaudhuri would collect money from each household to bribe the line man and we would suffer from no electricity for days Recently there was no electricity for few minutes and we got a message from BSES that some repairs were going on and it was apologizing message and we got electricity in less than an hour more
Shri.SK Virmani ji, If it is possible, kindly arrange to post an English version of your News Report for the benefit of larger public interest. more
