Demand Paid but Still Showing Payable in 143(1)

Hello, As per recent intimation 143(1) from CPC, Income tax dept. has deducted 1398 Rs against a pending demand and/or interest of AY 2010-11 raised by AO Jurisdiction from total refund of 2510 Rs of AY 2015-16. However, I wasn't aware of any such demand existed until it started showing in my eFiling portal in Nov 2015. So I paid the demand in full immediately same month under the head 400 as instructed. Form 26AS confirms the demand paid.

After having paid the demand, I wasn't expecting matter is settled. Now I don’t understand the deduction of 1398 Rs. I guess it is interest charged on delayed demand as per the breakup of adjustment provided in 143(1). Please refer the link below for screenshot.

I am okay to pay any interest on delayed demand. However, what I am more confused about is that intimation letter still shows that there is a demand payable of 2970 Rs besides adjustment of 1398 Rs from refund. Does this mean the demand I paid Nov 2015 has been overlooked by CPC?

There is no Demand notification or anything attached with intimation asking me to pay which confuses me more. Can someone shed some light on this? http://prnt.sc/b4apws more

PL visit your zonal office. it will be adjusted. it takes 2 days to show up in your A/C. more
Normally, no adjustment is made from your refund without giving you a notice and waiting for you reply within 30 days. It appears that you did not object to the demand earlier or responded to the Notice for adjustment. Please log into your account on income portal and click on pending demands or actions. Please select the appropriate reason and give the details of payment. You will automatically get the refund and demand will be deleted. The demand when paid are to be updated by the ITO which they do not do. I am facing identical problem where demand is showing even when I have paid the demand and the interest paid in excess has already been refunded to me. However, as I responded to the deduction notice in time, the demand was not adjusted against the refund, which was paid to be me as determined. In your case it appears that the entire refund determined has been adjusted. Please check your intimation showing refund determined. more
U should meet the AO with full details to rectify the matter. more
WHY NOT PERSONALLY VISIT TO YOUR ITAX DEPT. OFFICER. ,BY SHOWING PAYMENT DETAILS AND ASK THEM TO CLOSE THE ACCOUNT. more
Akhil, 1. Rs. 1358 is the interest amount from demand date ( 23.12.2011) to date of order (10.05.2016) 2.Rs. 2970 which you paid in Nov. 15 has been overlooked. 3.Once you bring this to the notice of the department, you will get the refund. more
