Dealing with Kanjoos Partner

Understand the root cause: Try and understand the root cause behind your partner's penny-pinching habits. He may be helping with expenses at home or saving for something big for your future. He might have faced a financial crunch in the past and therefore has become more alert and cautious of his expenditures. So, try and talk to him to understand the reason behind his/her thrifty behavior rather than nagging, complaining or simply walking away.

Devise an alternative strategy: When you see him scrimping and saving every rupee, bank upon your independent self. You may not be able to change your partner but you can definitely reduce your dependency upon him. Spend on the things you like to, pamper yourself and him. Show him that splurging at times doesn't harm anybody. Let's hope your ways and lifestyle will rub on him and he may pick a hint or two of spending a bit more than planned.

Plan interesting budget dates: If you are enjoying a good time with your partner and don't feel like bringing up the whole talk about his miser nature, then take the baton in your hand and plan budget dates. Trade dining out at expensive restaurants to sipping hot chai(ITALICISE IT) at a street stall. Go on morning walks together or just sit and watch the sunset in each other's company. Enjoy the little joys of life to remind him that you are together for things that matter more than money.

Compromise without sacrificing your happiness: If you feel you are compromising a bit too much by altering your lifestyle, then do treat yourself to a luxurious date once a while. Once you splurge on a good weekend trip, cut your expenditures on subsequent weeks to make up for the extra money spent on your affluent getaway. Talk it out with him in case he refuses to alternate between splurging and budgeting. Many couples part ways owing to matters related to money. Understand that your relationship is more important and both partners should be flexible to accommodate each other's likings and desires.

Be prepared for the worst: No, we aren't talking of parting ways here. We advise that you carry your wallet and credit cards at all time when you are with a miser. He may not carry extra cash with him, so you should have a back-up ready. Carry enough money to avoid embarrassment at a fine-dine restaurant or a movie theatre. Keep your credit/debit card handy if you spot a little black dress you can't let go off. Also, stay positive in life and believe in the power of love. Treat each other with respect and communicate with your partner to make a relationship work. Give out signals if his miser behavior is troubling you a bit too much and the one who loves you will understand your unspoken words without fail. more

first evaluate your self; you may be a spend thrift and hence feel the other person is a Kanjoos!!1Ha Ha more
One who saves, actually he saves not for himself but for others. This way he is a big donor. more
1. First persuade your conjoos partner to satisfy his basic needs and interests and compliment him/her for doing so. Thereafter make him/her realize your basic needs, interests and some common entertainment and rejoicing interests and persuade him to spend otherwise do not allow him/her to spend on his/her needs or object vehemently. Also make him/her realize that too much savings, beyond the couple's requirement for a stipulated time period, will not help him/her later in the present changing world scenario to leave money for children to change his/her habits being too thrifty to undergo the required changes. more
