Cutting of trees across Gurgaon, denuding the city

Gurgaon administration is on a rampant drive to cut trees across the city. Several old neem trees more than 30 years old have been cut without any care in the world. The road from Signature tower to Iffco metro station have been completely denuded of its tree cover. This at a time that the city that the trees are the only way to bring pollution down.
The district administration has been cutting trees across the city .
They have not even considered alternatives as in taking out these trees and replanting them in other parts of the city.
Gurgaon citizens have been silent to this act of sacrilege that the administration has carried out.
We should do something about this. As it affects the future of all of us. Bengaluru is a classical example of the trouble it is witnessing after it lost its tree cover to development. Your suggestions would be welcome on this issue. more

Dear Sir/Madam,  Greetings !!  We have pleasure in informing you that in association with Renewable Energy Welfare Society (REWS), the Media Today Group is organising a Renewable Energy Pavilion from August 28th till 30th 2017 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bangalore. A Renewable Energy Conference is planned on August 29, 2017.  The Renewable Energy Pavilion is being organized in conjunction with the 9th Edition of AgriTech India and India Foodex 2017 of Media Today Group. In view of the strong linkages between rural and agriculture sector and renewable energy REWS has decided to support the Renewable Energy Pavilion and Conference.  Agricultural sector in India consumes nearly 18% of the total electricity generated and contributes nearly 14% to the GDP. There are nearly 19 million agricultural pump sets energized in India. About 20% of the farmers have these pumpsets and 80% of the farmers depend on rainfed agriculture.  Agricultural sector can absorb renewable energy in applications such as water pumping and other agriculture related loads. Renewable energy also has a great potential to bring down diesel and kerosene consumption, making a great impact on oil and fuel imports. After the green revolution, this is yet another revolution getting unleashed in the agricultural sector!     The demand of power for agriculture and its allied segments is compelling to adopt new sources and various energy concepts for a long term sustainable solution to achieve the required food production targets for India. Adequate power supply can transform India's economy and wouldenhance agriculture productivity that can light the lives of  millions of small and marginal farmers.  Renewable Energy Welfare Society is actively supporting the Media Today Group’s event series by inviting the major industry stakeholders to a “Conference on Renewable Energy”also being organised on 29th August 2017.  About Media Today Group : Media Today Group is organizing 9th Edition of AgriTech India and India Foodex 2017 - an International exhibition on Agriculture, Food Manufacturing , Machinery and Allied Industries; concurrently with 8th GrainTech India 2017, 7th DairyTech2017 India and 6th Poultry & Livestock Expo 2017 scheduled to be held from 28th to 30th August 2017 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bangalore.  Last edition of AgriTech India witnessed participation of 30 countries with 400 exhibitors and more than 35000 trade visitors from all parts of India and neighbouring countries. Re-locating of trees is a must but Gurgaon authorities find it easier to cut/destroy them without a second thought. Thereafter, they have a function called tree plantation wherein they spend lacs of rupees on the pre-text of greening gurgaon. What a pathetic situation. All these folks should be taken to task. MCG is doing nothing towards trimming of over grown trees which are the main cause of electricity down time as the trees are damaging the over head transmission cables. If home owners are trimming then the community objects alongwith the MCG who should correctly be doing their jobs. In order to widen roads etc. its necessary to re-locate the trees but MCG will not do that as they say the Horticultur department should do it so gurgaon is in a state of limbo. more
