Control on price check by Amazon

Sellers on Amazon has become smart and selling the items by raising the price and then giving discounts. Amazon is very smart in this saying its a market place. Can they say the same if they do business in US or other countries. They will not dare to say that. Its in India they can play around. You will find thousands of items for which price are increased and sold. I totally blame Amazon for this. I agree they might not be able to check it, however, if someone raises an issues they should take action and refund the extra money.
Govt needs to take some stringent action on the e-commerce sites. more

I have never seen Amazon selling above MRP as the price raising and giving discount is concern their prices keep on fluctuating with stock they hold. more
It is very much standard practice. Consumer has to watch out. A smart consumer will always Google search for the price at various browser site. more
All e-commerce sites are doing this , its the customers who have to become more smart , as i have started doing i check prices online and purchase offline by walking into showrooms and retail stores and ask for discounts more
Amazon''s business is growing.. Uber''s business is growing... We have the money to splurge ...as long as our DA goes on increasing... So what is wrong if Amazon does not check jacked -up prices, UBER has universalised surge pricing ??? and different hospitals charge differently without transparency?? Government will say they have no role to play in a free market situation... If I pay more, the Government will stand to gain by way of higher GST collection.... which is good for investments in infrastructure, defence and job generation.... which is presently of higher importance than welfare expenditures... Standardisation of price's, at least for goods with elastic demand, may perhaps come only if consumers are well informed through a non-profit people''s forum which will publish comparative prices being charged at various places by various agencies for same products ... With further advances in electronic communication... the day is not far away when everything will have to be purchased through bidding in e-auction's. .. and with supply tuned to remain less than demand (through techniques well known) we may be moving towards interesting times... Personally, I am happy with what is happening now.. more
Why isolate Amazon only? The same thing is being done by almost all on-line as also land-line (sic) sellers. You can bargain, get the item at a price of 50% quoted initially and eventually may find to have shelled out 10-25% price higher, if not more. Such practices are in many places in the world (I do not have that much exposure to Scandinavian countries, China is stated to be (in)famous for it) . Therefore, before making a deal. for an item not of recurring procurement, conduct a market research. You may find that an item is being sold in a shop in your locality at a cheaper price. Even in the internet you can get the spectrum of price. If you examine thoroughly the details for an item (whether Amazon,Flipkart, Snapdeal ... ), you may come across several other sellers offering different prices and other terms and conditions (like packing/delivery charges . etc.). You can think such an e-tailer as a supermarket in which there are several sellers and we are buyers. more
