Consumer protection Act amendment Bill
The Bill provides for

Central Consumer Protection Authority to deal with unfair trade practices

Simpler adjudication process leading to early disposal of cases

e filing of complaints

filing complaints in the place where consumer resides

Court annexed Mediation to settle matter amicably to resolve disputes

Product /Service Liability to improve standardization of products reducing injury and harm and making manufacturers liable

Celebrities endorsing products and services to be liable along with media/ advertising agencies and manufacturers for unsubstantiated and false and misleading statements

Adulteration of products will be penalized and imprisoned

Enhance powers to district Consumer Fora up to 50 lakh value cases , powers to review and set up circuit benches

Members of District fora to be selected through State PSC exam. more

There should be many more consumer courts with least of bureaucratic system, i.e. common man friendly system, easily approachable by common man, time bound action plans, correct & detailed advice, etc,. There has to be fast judgement & binding on all parties. more  
Good suggestions. Supervision by Government officials has to increase. more
