Consumer Grievances in Telecom Sector - Inputs on Issues

Dear Members:

Thanks for submitting your vote on the poll about what industry has the most share of consumer grievances.

Let us initiate a discussion on the issues consumers face in the Telecom sector. I request all of you to outline the various issues you have experienced/come across in this industry with inaccurate billing, data charges, getting a broadband connection/servicing it, international roaming charges, late fees and any other areas.

Once we understand the issues, we will root cause them and identify solutions that can be submitted to the various Ministries and Government Departments for implementation.

Our objective would be to bring some systemic changes that will increase accountability and reduce consumer grievances in the telecom industry.

I look forward to you inputs!

Almost all Telecon companies have targeted customers.. and accordingly they have made categories according to age group and billing values.... each such category is handled and billed accordingly... it is very clever way... by which most of us are unaware when we are overbilled.... more

BSNL was systematically deprived of its rightful place by motivated policy decisions. The exchanges and cable network needs to be upgraded for giving better bandwidth on landline. While 3G is available on mobiles, it is not available on landline. Thanks to TRAI India has lowest tariff in the world. DND register needs to be updated on regular basis as unauthorised persons still make calls to customers about insurance policy, tour packages or aid to some agency unheard of. more
its not all officers but ITS cadre has sold n selling bsnl to pvt parties.they r d culprits more
