Consumer Grievance in Airline Sector - Root Causes

Dear Friends,

Listed below are some of the key issues highlighted by you in the airline sector from a consumer grievance standpoint. Please review them and add if anything is missing. Otherwise, let us identify root causes to these issues.

Once we know the root causes, we will identify solutions in a separate post and then submit the whitepaper for action to related Ministries/Departments.

Consumer grievance in airline sector – Issues
1. Airfares increase many folds during vacation season
2. Poor and arrogant services
3. Employees of some airlines and very inefficient
4. Airlines are ignoring safety standards for travelers
5. A lot of flights get delayed
6. Food stalls at the airport are very expensive
7. Missing baggage
8. Over-priced food and water inside the planes
9. Cramped seating in budget carriers
10. Over booking of flights on popular routes
11. Unfriendly attitude of the crew
12. Insufficient arrangement for physically challenged
13. The delays/cancellations and not notified well enough more

1. Take a lesson from FAA. Our regulator may be provided in depth training/up-gradation in Aviation regulation and Customer services. more  
Kindly start a direct flight from Pune to Kolkata/Kolkata to Pune .Bcoz the indirect flight cost me a lot and its time consuming more  
Food prices are high, and not many choices are there inside the Airport.Transit passengers are not allowed just outside, to have something.That makes it even more irritating. more  
why u ppl are targeting Airline and bigger sector... come to basic issues first. stop all fraud Ads... Jyotish ... sliming product... etc more
