Blood pressure machines - highly inaccurate

Just had some experience with electronic BP machines due to my father. They are highly highly inaccurate. Direct experience and link below confirms.70% of the time.

My question is - who will fix this.Legal metrology dept or Bureau of Indian Standard. Someone has to.

Accuracy depends upon the quality; Buy a machine that would be used by a doctor more
yes these machines are not accurate and doctors also use this as reference, when in doubt, they will use mercury machine only. For us the best method to use this machine is use three reading as these machine give little different reading with different pressure with witch we fix ban on our hand. Second more important check the BP of other healthy person at the same time with same machine. We are very near approximation of correct reading. But still use this reading as reference only. more
Rubbish! Is it a weighing machine that to be corrected and certified by the Legal Metrology Department or BIS? This could be done only by a medical related body. The electronic machines available in the market start giving inaccurate readings very frequently and it is better to avoid their use for the purpose. Comparatively, the traditional ones are far better and reliable. more
My experience is that you have to take minimum three readings. First two readings are to be discarded. Readings become consistent from the third reading. However, I could not convince myself regarding the scientific reason(s) behind it. more
It should be taken up by the Health Ministry, may be through the Health Inspectors. more
