Are nuts considered packaged products

Are nuts like cashews almonds in a pre packed condition considered packaged product or not?

Shops in Delhi Lajpat Nagar openly flout norms by not putting MRP on the packets.

Why is our legal metrology ministry not active on such issues? more

Dry Fruits if bought in Whole Sale Markets like Khari Bauli in Old Delhi would cause way below what these Departmental store charge you. However they pack it aesthetically with cellophane and using good quality corrugate box which might just cost them Rs.50/- they make 300 rupees profit from the sale of single box. Corporate don't mind paying for boxed gift aways as they have budget allocation for same, but for household use, best would be to buy from whole sale bazaar visiting them on weekly off - Sunday or whatever convenient. Departmental Stores are also found to be marketing Almonds of California whereas the same might have been packed in Khari Bauli. Weights and measures would be weighted down by the weight of commissions I guess....which is the reason perhaps for their omissions. more

Are we satisfied with Arbitrary MRP placed on the packings? What is the logics sellers can use to decide about MRP? more

It is different matter,shopkeepers just packs some products to save time ,it comes loose ,what. matters they have their own price,either they tab or not more
