Apple charging GST over MRP
Apple website in India and its employees seem clueless about mrp and that gst cannot be charged above mrp. See attached mrp on invoice 4900 box 4500.
Can legal metrology folks book them or will they want a complaint.

1)Any product imported in Indian and if it is covered under MRP in India,the importer has to fix mrp lebal on the same, immediately, before it leaves their first godown /place. 2) any violation of mrp is liable for penal action and imprisonment also. more

First take up the matter with Apple giving them ten days time. If they do not take any action, matter can be taken up with Consumer Forum. Matter should be followed up regularly till it is settled. more

Its better to raise the issue with Apple as well as Consumer Forum for two reasons: 1) Let Apple know that consumers are aware of MRP concept and can't be taken for ride. 2) Let the Tax Authorities know that even big companies indulge in charging consumers over and above MRP and its time for Authorities to wake up and do justice to consumers. more
